My grandmother moved there with my mother and her roommate storm about two years ago. At that time, my grandma is still relatively independent - she was still able to walk, cooking, a shower, dressing himself and the task of the case. A good while, my Grandma can stay at home, and my mother and her roommate ran things, or not grocery shopping. Before, actually let her stay at home alone, though, my mother make a decision, I will let my grandma medical alert bracelets. My grandmother opposed to this at the beginning, it is difficult for her to admit that she might actually need one. My mother explained to her that this activity, she (my mother), my mother’s roommate were not at home, she, she can remind people can be made to help.

Work in the area of medical services over the past few years, I am sure that my fair share of injuries, because many of the seniors people suffering from falls. Many of them have not found their loved ones a couple of hours, because they (the injured) were injured, to some extent hindered them to take action - hip and leg injuries. If they have a medical alert bracelet, they will be the immediate reaction.

Several months ago, my husband and I came to Calgary, I have a grandmother autumn. My mother was at work and her roommate took her own mother to appointments. My grandmother decided that she wanted to sit out on my mother returned to the deck, it is two levels. The second level there are two steps down to another seating area, this is the area of my grandma court decision. On the second step, a way out of her leg, she fell. She involved in a collision, her head a post, before landing on the bottom level. She banged their very worst, leaving her unable to move, unable to make 911 calls telephone. Fortunately She was wearing her medical alert bracelet, and can press the buttons to remind them and help them. About eight minutes, including emt’s arrival. My mother failed to return home about two hours later, she is actually a decrease of (my mother works about 35 miles away from her home) and the Storm (roommate) failed to return home after about one hour, I Mom. Without that medical alert bracelet, my grandma will be out on their deck at least two hours of time than should be.

I think all of the elderly, or even any other person walking with the struggle, and the decline in the high-risk, wear a medical alert bracelet. Its handy, as my grandma and family, and this makes me feel much better about their families, let me keep what little bit of Grandma’s freedom and independence, her. It makes us (my family) and my grandma peace of mind.
